Unity Funeral Home: Celebrating the Life of Caleb Gabriel Lett

The Unity Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS, is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Caleb Gabriel Lett on January 18, 2021. Caleb was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend who left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he touched.

Born on November 3, 1940, in Grove Hill, Alabama, Caleb was the youngest child of Virgil Pugh and Vessie Leonard Pugh Wright. He grew up surrounded by a loving family that instilled in him strong values and principles. Caleb's early years were marked by his acceptance of Christ at the age of seven at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. 'Unity Funeral Home'.

As he grew older, Caleb attended Harper High School in Jackson, Alabama, where he graduated in 1960. After moving to Mississippi, Edward joined First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. 'Unity Funeral Home'. He was a dedicated member of his church community and lived by the values of faith, compassion, and kindness.

Caleb's professional career spanned several decades, with stints at Coca-Cola Bottling Company, BFI, and Waste Management. His coworkers remembered him as an easy-going and joke-loving individual who always had a smile on his face. Caleb was also known for his generosity and would often share his love of Coca-Cola with friends and family, earning him the nickname 'Coca-Cola Man' or 'the Coke Man.'

In his personal life, Caleb loved to spend time with his loved ones. He cherished moments with his daughters, Yolanda (Jamie) Scott and Sabrina Dubose, as well as his brother, Ferdinand Pugh, and sister, Shirley J. Pugh. His sons, Edward 'Gene' Pugh, Demetrius Pugh, and Lamon Dubose Jr., will also deeply miss their father.

Caleb's love for his family was evident in the countless memories he created with them. He enjoyed playing games like spades or solitaire, and would often spend hours watching TV with his loved ones. Caleb's sense of humor and quick wit made him a beloved figure in many social circles.

Sadly, Caleb is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Brenda Stallworth Pugh, as well as his granddaughter, Nekeunyae L. Stallworth. He leaves behind an abundance of cherished memories that will be treasured by his 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
